appearance.
visual notes. He appears between his late 20s to late 30s depending of the magic giving him the human appearance. Skellige’s human appearance is not a set form, his hair changes between short to long, but always a form of blonde and his eyes are always a light blue leaning towards grey. His build also tends toward a lean, muscular swimmer like build. When Skellige smiles it comes off as softer than he might otherwise appear.
In his grotesque form, Skellige is quite the impression. He appears like a stone demon with long horns curving to the sky with long ears following the line beneath them. His long fanged teeth snarl above taloned claws and bat-like wings spread out behind him. His abs are defined, partially sunken beneath visible chest and oblique musculature - if he were made of flesh there would be no skin to hide the muscle fibers in their connective tissue sheaths. A stone wrap skirt hangs at the bottom of the lower abdomen- his clothes will always change back to this.
demeanor. Skellige’s watchful demeanor can be intense at times, with a piercing gaze that makes some feel guilty even if they haven’t done anything.
scent. Bourbon, rich chocolate, dark amber, cold granite, and a touch of dirt.
accent. Much like his creation, his way of speech is an amalgamation of accents that can't particularly be pinpointed.
blood. When one gets to the blood in Skellige’s body, it doesn’t have a blood taste it only tastes of Death and Magic

Personality.
Being a guardian means Skellige is very observant. He watches the world in silence to be able to react to any danger as quickly as possible. It makes him come off as aloof and intense at times as it distracts him from his inner turmoil of clashing selves.
He can be uncertain about interactions. Skellige doesn’t always understand the feelings he experiences so there are times his expression doesn’t match the situation. His smile can feel forced or he smiles in the wrong situation because nothing inside of him matches up. Skellige is only technically 9 and still learning about interactions with others, so he has an underlining innocence to him.
Because of how he was created, Skellige can become overwhelmed by sudden memories that are not his. He becomes disoriented and depending what memories he is experiencing he can become violent. More often than not, he leans more toward the clawing irritation of an anxiety attack.
Skellige follows the rules that had been given to him by the family that created him, protect the bloodline, so he only really trusts the twins and their instructions, though he will mostly be polite in conversations he manages and straightforward in his responses.

[extra]
Stone skin.
Only fully penetrable by enchanted chisels made with the blood of the Byrnes, the stone exterior is highly durable and regenerative. Strong enough hits may cause cracks and damage but cannot shatter the magic that holds the sacrificed internals. If he does manage to crack he must soak in water for the cracks to reform.
Flight.
While stones can’t fly, the enchanted properties of the gargoyle allow it to become weightless as long as it jumps from a high vantage point, meaning he glides more than he flies but he's in the sky either way. (Only in his grotesque form.)
Enhanced Strength and Speed.
Gargoyles are extremely strong, given their stone nature, and surprisingly fast. They can move just fast enough for the human eye to catch a blur before they stand still and unmoving.
Grotesque/Human Form.
The natural form is that of a demon-like stone creature with claws, wings and fangs that can all be used as natural weapons. With the help of magical items or Witches, Skellige can appear in human form to blend in when needed. These forms do not need to breathe or eat but must drink water.
- Currently, the illusion is upheld by a bracelet. Which made the human form change upon entering Eerie.
Night Vision.
Skellige can see in pitch black with no need for any amount of external light. When he is in low light, his eyes glow amber.
Proximity.
Gargoyles can only go so far from their home structures. If a gargoyle ventures too far from its lair then it will either be compelled to turn back or it will return to its inanimate state. Their 'home structure' and the distance limitation can only be changed by their owner or creator.
Skills.
Guarding? Cleaning? Pretending to be a cousin? Skellige can actually speak five different languages though he doesn't often know he's switched languages. It's directly related to the seven 'inside' him.
Other.
Made from Seven different people/things and a part of them and their memories live on inside of Skellige, which causes outbursts.
Due to the Will’o’wisp heart, flames turn green whenever Skellige is nearby. It’s one of the easiest ways to find him if he’s lurking.

Ritual Violence. Sacrifices.
Technically, Skellige had many vibrant lives before he became what he is now. A young witch out for the thrills, a radiant fae, and many others lost and forgotten and ripe for the picking.
It started with several failed attempts. A coven of witches, twisted and turned by the dark, were attempting to make hardy guardians. Something more resilient. Something monstrous. And, if they were honest with themselves, their intentions had been to create a monster in inspiration of Frankenstein’s. The fictional character had the right idea.
Mundane humans did not work in the least, much to their dismay. They were easy to come by. Lots of hikers got lost in the mountains. So the coven turned to the magically inclined- witches, blessed and others. It was fate that lead one of the coven to making a wager with a fae that had crossed their path. A steep prize was wagered and when the witch won, they were left with a singular heart of a fae dripping in a green flame.
Under an eclipse, they had gathered enough to make four beings, laid then out over large boulders just outside of a cave and began their spell work. Hours past and nothing seemed to be happening with the stitched together carcasses. At the peak of the solar eclipse when all the light was taken from the world, it was the boulders that started to rumble. The solid stone crumbled where the bodies lay and engulfed them. Moments later great stone creatures burst through as the eclipse ended letting out roars that sounded more like avalanches than animals.
The stitched pieces of meat (mostly organs) could still be sensed within the stone but the life was given to stone not flesh.
They were initially rather mindless for the coven’s liking, but they were still useful. After the first year though, they started having dreams. Dreams of other lives. The lives that had made them. It was difficult on their subconscious, to say the least. The gargoyles would become violent amongst themselves or towards their selves. Two had to be destroyed completely- picked open and their heart ripped out. Skellige and Fair were kept chained and heavier binding magics inlaid into their stone flesh.
Skellige continued to be troubled and all over the place emotionally. From time to time blood would seep out of his eyes. The coven decided to send him off to their cousins, the Byrnes, to be helped and hopefully stabilized. All power over him was transferred to them, allowing them to give him as much freedom as they wished and the ability to recall him to their property if he should become a sudden problem. (Of course, he was supposed to go to their older brother but Skellige's directions were not clear when he was sent off.)
Skellige, instinctively, wants to and needs to guard witches, so when the twins went off to attend Uni in Eerie, Skellige went with them.
